We
would like to provide an addendum to that report.
At the time the field work for that report was conducted, no accurate, large scale
topographic maps of the quarry were available. As a result, the height of the various
benches examined in the quarry were based on field estimates. Since that report was
issued, a topographic map has been produced which more accurately reflects the bench
heights. Using the topo map, the maximum height of Bench 1 is 61 ft at the headwall and
115 ft for the sidewall. The maximum heights of Benches 2 and 3 are 71 ft and 50 ft
respectively. However, the variation in the height of the benches in no way alters the
conclusion of the report that at the time of the field examination, no mass failures were
evident or expected.
We hope that this information clarifies the data in the report and clears up any conflicts in
the project data.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
~EL 8 Asso ial/' Inc.
.,Gp~O
Dennis J.
