Service.
2. Seed mixture will be as specified in the Soil
Conservations Service letter by Ronald D. Miller
and included with each application.
3. These are small pits that are used on an as
needed basis. Therefore regular mining does
not occur, making a time table very difficult
to estimate. All applications apply to gravel
pits inteded for long-term use with the best
estimate being a 10-year life for each. The pits
are small (less than 10 acreas each) and will be
disturbed throughout most of the area as long
as mining occurs. Reclamation at each pit will be
accomplished within one year after the pit is no
longer used for extraction purposes.
4. Access road areas that are on-site have been in-
cluded as "affected land" area, while access road
areas outside the boundaries shown have not been
included in the area of "affected land". The
area of access road that might be considered
"affected land" outside each boundary is as
follows:
Pit #2 - 0.2 Acre
Pit #3 - 0.1 Acre
Pit #4 - 0.1 Acre
Pit #5 - 0 '
Pit #6 - 0
Pit #7 - 0
Pit #8 - 0.1 Acre
Pit #9 - 0
Pit #10 - 0.6 Acre
5. RE: File number 81-285. Refer to detail of this
application provided by Soil Conservation Service
under Exhibit D wherein, that agency states that
surface layer at this site is grayish brown
gravelly sandy loam 4 inches thick. Therefore,
the County intends to replace the topsoil to a
depth of that existing before excavation and like
adjacent lands which is 4". The County hereby
acknowledges Forest Service permit, part 41 (1).
That reference is to overburden not topsoil.
Twelve inches of topsoil does not exist.
6. RE: File number 81-287. Pit No. 3. The area
outside of Sand Creek's creek bed will not be
disturbed except at the access roadway site. At
that access location, the area will be graded to
slopes no steeper than 3 horizontal to one vertical
and will be seeded in accordance with Exhibit C.
