• processing of the waste rock to an aggregate product for sale and
removal from the site, or to re-introduce the waste back into the
previously mined areas of the underground operation.
4. Thickness of the Deposit to be Mined
The existing surface dumps range in thickness from 2 feet to 50
feet. The entire surface of this previously mined material will
be re-mined to the level of the original surface, and not beyond.
The underground operation will include the mining of steeply
sloping narrow metals mineral veins. Standard methods of narrow
vein hard rock mining will be utilized. No surface disturbance
will be necessary. The underground mining methods utilized will
insure the integrity and safety of the subsurface structure.
5. Major Components of the Mining Operation
A11 of the major components necessary for the mining operation
are in place as a result of previous mining activity. They
include the following components that are marked by points on the
EXHIBIT E Map as follows:
• RR6 Access Roads - including the road by the ore bin east
of the Mendota Mine portal.
M-16 Tailings Impoundment
M-14 Office and Workshop
M-13 Mendota Mine - Underground access, primary entrance for
personnel and equipment, primary exit for personnel,
equipment and ore from underground activities. Primary
ventilation pathway.
M-21 Mendota Dump - Surface re-mining area, transportation
staging area for movement of the dump material to the
Heavy Media Plant. Loading and storage area for the
transportation of the aggregate product and ore from
the property.
MM17 Heavy Media Plant - Crushing, screening and gravity
separation of mineral components. Loading area for
transportation of the aggregate product and ore.
MM18 Terrible / Dunderburg Adit - Serving as an alternate
entry and escape route for underground activities.
Secondary ventilation pathway.
• MM26 Burleigh Tunnel - Serving as an emergency entry and
7
