• EXHIBIT C - MINING PLAN
Commencement and Duration of Mining
Given favorable economic factors, mine development and
preliminary mining will commence within one year of permit
issuance. Currently identified reserves would support mining
activity for approximately 30 years.
The estimated dates are from January 15, 1991 to January 14,
2021.
The estimated time to complete the processing and removal of the
existing mine dumps is 5 years. The approximate dates are from
January 15, 1991 to January 14, 1996.
2. Topsoil Salvage and Storage
No visible topsoil exists in this previously mined area. Surface
dumps that will be re-mined may have topsoil under them. If any
material exists, it will be amended as necessary to provide the
proper quality growth medium. If topsoil must be disturbed, it
will be salvaged to a depth of 12 inches ( or that designated by
• the Soil Conservation District), and utilized in reclamation as a
plant growth medium. In situations where the topsoil will not be
immediately reapplied after any removal, it will be stored in a
stockpile located at point M-21 on the EXHIBIT E Map. This area
offers protection from wind erosion and water drainage. The pile
will be seeded with the seed mix specified by the Soil
Conservation District to provide a vegetative cover to restore
the natural cover and further inhibit erosion.
3. Overburden and Waste Rock
The mining plan provides that overburden and waste rock will not
need to be removed in order to re-mine the existing surface
dumps. An aggregate product will be produced from the existing
surface dumps. The aggregate product will be commercially sold
and removed from the site. During the production of the
aggregate product and prior to the sale and removal, the
aggregate product will be stored on the site located at point M-
21 on the EXHIBIT E Map, and will not extend beyond the
boundaries indicated on the Map.
The underground operation will not require the disturbance of any
previously undisturbed overburden. The waste rock, if any,
required to be removed from the underground operation, will be
stored on the site located at points M-21 on the EXHIBIT E Map,
• and will not extend beyond the boundaries indicated on the Map.
Tine final disposition of the waste rock, if any, will be the
6
