~~
RECLAMATION PLAN

E}:HIBIT "E"
la) Description of the type of reclamation, reasons
earthmovinp related to reclamation.
ti) The entire pit area will be reclaimed as ~rangeland..~
This use was. selected by the landowner as. being consistent
with the balance of his ownership adjar_ent to the affected
area.
(ii) Earthmoving in reclamation will be relatively ~;imple.
Backslopes will be finished at 3H:1V or flatter. Both the
pit floor and baekslopes will be topsoiled with 4" - 7"
available topsoil. These operations will be performed with
any combination of front-end loader., doers and/or scragers:
(b) Comparison of the proposed post-mining land use to other
land uses in the vicinity.
As stated in (a) (i), rangeland ic- the landowners' choice for
reclamation which is consistent with the balance of their
ownership in tF~is. area. Other land uses within a 1-1/~' mile
radius of the perimeter of the subject are rangeland with as-
sociated ranch houses and buildings, plus another clay mine
to the south. This portion of E1 Paso County is not covered
by the County zoning ordinance. Therefore, this. operation
would not be in conflict with the local guvernment rules and
regulations.
(cl Description of how the reclamation plan will be imple-
mented to meet applicable requirements of Rule 6-6-1 Grading_
Ill B.acl;~;loping "backfilling"
Unused overburden, if any, will be spread on bacl<slopes and
the pit floor before topsoiling. There will 6e no toxic ma-
terials involved that could be leached.
l2) Grading will be done in a manner to prevent erosion and
siltation of ttie affected lands. The plan will protect areas.
outside the affected land from possible slides or other dam-
age. There will be no highwalls to be stabilised.
l3) 8ackfilling and grading will be accomplished as part of
the mining process. This definitely constitutes. a reasonable
timetable consistent with good mining and reclamation proce-
dures.
