There will be no impoundment:., ether than the pit itself. <br />(d) Size of area tp be Worked at any one time and associated <br />disturbance classification. <br />The applicant proposes. to operate this pit on a Floating <br />Bond. A maximum of 10 acres will be affected at any one <br />time. Reclamation will follow mining as closely as. possible <br />as consistent with operations. The 10 acres maximum will <br />have the following disturbance clas~~ifications.. <br />(i) Major Disturbance 5 acres, will include excavations, <br />overburden and topsoil stockpile_=., backfilling of an open <br />cut. <br />(iiI Moderate Disturbance: 3 acres, will include: <br />,. the leveling of overburden <br />-. the smooth grading and distribution of topsoil <br />There will be no: <br />1. stabilization of waste dump; <br />2, railroads <br />3. evaporation or settling ponds <br />4. leaching dump~~. <br />5. waste storage or discharge areas <br />6. structure~• of any kind on site. <br />liii> Minor Disturbance: 2 acres, will include: <br />1. disking or chiseling <br />Z. fertilization <br />3. seeding <br />4. mulching <br />(e) Approximate timetable to describe the mining operations: <br />This property constitutes. a major clay deposit for the ap- <br />plicsr.t which will provide a supply well into the middle or <br />last part or" the ne>:t century for this particular type clay. <br />Phase 1 area is expected to have a life of at least ~0 years. <br />More core drilling will be done in thi=. time period to deter- <br />mine where to start mining west of the road after Phase 1 is <br />complete. <br />
