The product <br />Nalco 7883 may be used without further Division approval; the <br />use of any other flocculant will first require Division review <br />and approval. <br />f. For the first four weeks of flocculant addition, the <br />effluent limits as stated in the permit for outfall 002 will <br />apply for bo[h outfalls 002 and 003. This four week period is <br />hereafter referred to as Phase II. <br />R. If the TSS limits for outfalls 002 and/or 003 cannot be met <br />using chemical addition during Phase II, then the TSS limits <br />will be suspended immediately for the appropriate outfalls) <br />after Phase II. <br />h. In the event TSS limits are suspended at the end of Phase <br />II, the suspension will continue until the construction of the <br />new minewater system (ponds 005 and 006) is complete or October <br />31, 1988, whichever occurs earlier. <br />i. Following completion of construction of ponds 005 and 006 or <br />on November 1, 1988, whichever occurs earlier, the TSS limits as <br />stated in the Hermit for 002 will apply to both outfalls 002 and <br />003. <br />i. In the event that TSS limits are suspended for outfall 002 <br />and/or outfall 003, the company shall make every effort to <br />minimize the concentrations of TSS by optimizing treatment. If <br />it is possible to reduce TSS concentrations by a reduction in <br />flow, then the company is expected to undergo flow reduction. <br />k. The company shall make every effort to complete all tasks <br />relating to this action in a timely manner. <br />9. Comply with the following notification requirements: <br />a. Notify the Division of the results of all monitoring of 002 <br />and 003 undertaken during Phase I, verbally within 2 working <br />days following the close of Phase I and in wrihin¢ within 5 <br />working days of the close of Phase I. <br />b. Notify the Division verbally within 24 hours of becoming <br />aware of any TSS result exceeding 70 mg/1 at either outfall 002 <br />or 003 during Phase I. <br />c. Notify the Division in writing of the date that MIRD <br />approves or disapproves of the proposed chemical treatment <br />system, within 5 working days of their decision. <br />-4- <br />
