~soaf~.~y.a. ..._ .. .._. ~ .. ~ P 03
possibly run into the water supply and divert the spring or shut the
flow off, He alto recommends no blasting allowed. Zt brings the
question of how deep would-we have to drill to get decent water. Good
water is at a premium in this area. We drilled 160 feet when we built
out place and didn't find water, The golf course had to drill around
800 feet. Thac would be extremely expensive if my water supply was shuc
off. Also the evaluation of my land would drop drastically if there
wasn't water. A 5 acre tract of land 3 miles down the road just sold
for $242, OD0. That makes Kings 35 scree ar+d my 233 acres worth a lot.
Wagners t million dollar bond wouldn't be nearly enough to cover that
~xpenne.
I also disagree with the amount of flow of water
measured by Walt Rohrer. The spring box hie 3 outlets. Eis(~lps is on
the boteom, Kings in the middle, and mine ~n the top. Bisrups ie
running all of tba time- Kings rune only when in use. My supply runs
out of my storage tank that is just below she spring storage box when it
is full. aiefiups should have had water running out of their storage
taiilc urilese they had been using water or had the water turned on
somewhere. That makes an inaccurate measurement of the gallons per
minute because Biskupe rune into their stcrage tank all of the time and
should have been overflowing.
all r.hat was measured was my overflow and an estimate of the water
running duw+l the draw from the spring.
i,(§„ Most importantly the n~les for the operation approved
by the Planning Commission and the county Commissioners stated no
operation on Sundays. On May 23, 1999 Jade King and I went up on my
land to take pictures of the site, sxcav;ition was in process at that
time. That was a Sunday. On June 20, Pai_here Day, my daughter and e
friend were out to see her new foal. Thee both commented Co each other
about all the noise from the gravel pit o:z Sisa~ape property. That was a
Sunday. Jane Kinq hes also heard noise from the area on other Sundays.
i ask that you read the letter fsom the Colorado Pirst Soil Conservation
District to the Division of Minerals and 3eology dated July 8th. I
agree with their recommendation that due to the misrepresentations and
violation of the permit that the mine be closed and reclaimed. I would
hope tk+at you do the same.
ihae+k yuu far your time and cos+e ider~cion.
Donna M. As}sbauyli Hnll
