We under- <br />stand the roadway will be asphalt surfaced and designed for an <br />equivalent 18 kip axle loading.. <br />Bridge Improvement: The repair will consist primarily of recon- <br />struction of the abutment members together with the bridge deck <br />merrt~ers as required. The bridge center supports will probably rot be <br />replaced. <br />Ponds: three ponds to detain surface runoff and two ponds for <br />fresh water storage are proposes. Structures will be earthen and <br />typically 20 feet deep. A hillsi3e slope method of construction will <br />generally be used with cut and fill depths ranging to maximums between <br /> approximately 10 to 25 feet. Water depth will typically 6e a maximum <br /> 15 to 17 feet with the exception of runoff pond 1~3 whidi will only be <br />about 5 feet. Fresh water ponds are anticipated to have a relatively <br />constant water level, whereas the runoff ponds will fluctuate. <br />Potable Water Plant: The system will consist of a 150,000 gallon <br />water storage tank and a small water treatment plant. .Minor excava- <br />tion are anticipated for both structures. The tank will be steel and <br />have a height of 15 feet. <br />Wastewater Treatment: The treatment plant will consist of a <br />relatively small pre-engineered systan located along the North Fork <br />Gunnison River. Loadings are assumed to be relatively light. <br />Railroad Spur: The spur will consist of an approximate three- <br />quarter mile alignment along the north bank of the river to service <br /> <br />
