Schueler, Assistant Director, Comprehensive Planning C~ S
Attached Letter Concerning Mining Permit on Schedule #01000-00-022
Per your attached letter dated January 1, 1996, the parcel in question is not currently zoned.
Records available to us indicate the parcel is also well in excess of thirty-five (35) acres and
is, therefore, exempt from subdivision regulations. No County land use approvals are
required.
Given this situation, the EI Paso County Master Plan !or Extraction o/ Commercial Mineral
Deposits, either as presently adopted or as proposed to be amended, would have limited
regulatory application.
However, as a matter of good practice, the Planning Department would suggest that com-
munication be undertaken with neighboring property owners if any are in close proximity. It is
also recommended that the operation be sited and designed so that visual and traffic impacts
are reasonably minimized.
Cc: Kenneth G.
