' Equipment used on the property may include, but is not limited
to, a dragline, dozer, scraper, front-end loader and conveyor.
The sand and gravel below the overburden varies in thick-
^ Hess from 20 to 2`_. feet as found in exploratory holes drilled
' in 1981 by Mobile Premix. Underlying the sand and gravel is
a relatively impermeable shale and clay. This shale and clay
strata will act as a bottom for the pit throughout the operation.
' Durinq the test hole drilling, water was encountered at
a depth of five to six feet below the present surface and being.
' at the same elevation as the County sand and gravel lake to
the east, more or less. -
No NPDES permit is required on this property. However,
it is hoped that as part of this plan the County will grant~j
' Mobile Premix Concrete, Inca the right to mine through the
' property line. If approval is granted, this will allow for ~ Z y
a large continuous lake. Mobile Premix currently has a ~ ~17~'Yy~
L~1
NPDES permit on the County lake and if mining is allowed to
' proceed through the property line, water from the Nyholt
property would be commingled with the County water. This
' NPDES permit was acquired to allow Mobile Premix to lower the
water table a few feet during times of heavy spring run-off
when the ground water table rises and presents a problem with
overburden removal. To date Mobile Premix has not had to
use this permit with seasonally spring run-offs being low.
' Estimated Min:ino Timetable
Minino Staoe Year Mined Acres ±
' Stage 1 March 1983 to April 1984 10.9
Stage 2 April 1984 to May 1985 10.9
' Stage 3 Maur 1985 to June 1986 10.9
' TOTAL 32.7±
(b)
