Effluent Limitations
As described in the initial rationale for the renewal issued in 1989, and in
subsequent amendments 1 and 2, no water quality standards other than pH apply to ?
these discharges. Therefore, the effluent limitations for total suspended
solids and total iron are based on Federal guidelines summarized in these
previous documents.
The effluent limitations applicable to discharge points 026 and 027 are those
described in the previous rationales and can be found on page 1c of the permit.
These limitations are also summarized below.
Table V-1 -- Effluent Limitations
?arameter
Limitation Rationale
?low, MGD Report Design Capacity
Total Suspended Solids, mg/1 35/70 b/ Federal BPT
Total Iron, mg/1 }.5/7.0 b/ Federal BAT
pH, su 6.5 - 9.0 ~ ?eater Quality Standards
Oil & Grease,mg/1 10 ~ State Effluent Standards
Total Dissolved Solids, mg/1 Report CO River Salinity Standards
1io1e Effluent Toxicity, Acute Report WET Regulations
=/ 30-Day Average
'~/ 30-Day Average/Daily Maximum
J Daily Maximum
d/ Pfinimum-Maximum
1. Additionally, no additional loading would result from
this amendment because each new discharge point would replace an existing
point and would not increase the load from this facility.
2.
