Identification, Classification and Standards <br />1. Identification: Discharge is to an unnamed drainage, tributary to Red <br />Wash, segment 13a of the White River sub-basin, Lower Colorado River basin. <br />2. Classification: This stream segment is classified for the following uses: <br />Use Protected; Recreation, Class 2; Aquatic Life, Class 2 (Warm); <br />Agriculture. <br />3. Numeric Standards: The complete list of standards which have been assigned <br />in accordance with the above classification can be found in 3.7.0, <br />Classifications and Numeric Standards for the Lower Colorado River Basin (5 <br />CCR 1002-8). The standards are: <br />Ph~~sical and Bioloeical <br />pH - 6.5 - 9.0 s.u. <br />DO 5.0 mg/1 <br />Fecal Coliform - 2,000/100 m1 <br />B. Receiving Water Data <br />1. Stream Low Flow: The flows which will 'oe used to calculate effluent limitations <br />are acute `lows, chose that occur for one day every three years (lE3), or <br />chronic, those that occur for thirty days every three years (30E3). These flows <br />have been determined by the Water Quality Control Division and are as follows: <br />Tvoe Flow <br />Acute (1E3): 0.0 cfs (0.0 MGD) <br />Chronic (30E3): 0.0 cfs (0.0 MGD) <br />i!'. 'PURPOSE OF AMENDMENT <br />By 1e[ters of April 30, 1992, and ,Tune 16, 1992, the permittee requested amendments <br />co their permit concerning discharge of mine water. As mining moves, new discharge <br />points are needed for discharge of mine water and old points that are no longer used <br />can be inactivated. The permittee intends co replace discharge point 024 with a new <br />point, ~~026, around February, 1993. Ac an undetermined time after that, discharge <br />point 026 will be replaced with a new point, ~~027. Both points (026 and 027) will <br />discharge to unnamed tributaries co Red Wash, which is tributary co the White River. <br />Treatment of_the mine water, pumped from longwall wo_rki-:gs, will be through_us~of <br />settling ponds <br />
