SLF <br />replacement was not scheduled until the week of July IS` <br />Ames started night shift for SLF placement on June 22"d. The night shift was discontinued on June 25a'. <br />Ames continued placement of Drain Cover Fill (DCF) and haul road construction in the Phase Na area. <br />The DCF was placed using CAT D6, D8, and D9 dozers. The DCF was placed on the floor and slopes, <br />advancing from north to south. <br />Ames continued construction of the Leak Detection Trench (LDT) in the southern end of Phase Na. A <br />CAT 426, 120 (wl a hammer attachment), 330 excavator, and a Vermeer trencher were being used for <br />the LDT construction. <br />Ames began construction of the three (3) 42" CSP's for the VLF access road on June 27a'. The <br />CSP's were placed and pipe backfilling began on June 28a' and completed on June 29u'. <br />Poly-Flex continued deployment of 80-mil LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase IVa area. Poly-Flex <br />deployed 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane over an area of 132,061 squaze feet in <br />the Phase IVa azea during this reporting period. Geomembrane panels P136 through P161 were <br />deployed, seamed, and tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive seam samples DF-53 through DF-66 were <br />marked, removed, and tested. <br />Ames did not perform confirmation drilling in the Phase IVa area during this reporting period. <br />Phase IVb <br />~ Ames continued constmction of the Phase IVb(c Temporary Diversion Channel and completed <br />construction on June 27`h. During this reporting period, the 36" CSP headwall and wing-walls were <br />formed and poured. Channel forming and final grading were also conducted. Rip-rap was placed <br />upstream of the headwall. Backfil] was placed behind the CSP headwall. <br />Ames resumed placement of Structural Fill (SF) in the Phase Nb area by reconstructing the saddle <br />berm removed for 36"CSP placement. <br />Ames began removal of the old diversion channel. This work consisted of removal of the concrete <br />headwall and CSP's underneath the old Highway 67 alignment, removal of channel rip-rap, and <br />demolition and removal of a concrete drop-structure. <br />Ames began removal of topsoil from the northwest face of the substation hill area. Uncontrolled fill <br />materials was placed by Ames adjacent to the Secondary Crusher fill. <br />Ames continued removal of DCF from the Phase III liner near Chicken Hawk Hill. <br />Ames performed excavation remediation activities for underground working UNK-11.
