(Golder) is pleased to submit this summary of Phase Na, b, and c Construction <br />Quality Assurance (CQA} services performed for the Cresson Project during the period of June 16a' <br />through June 29s', 2002. <br />The weather during this reporting period was clear to cloudy. Approximate daytime temperatures <br />ranged from a low of 39° F to a high of 94° F, Rain was recorded on June 2151, 24s' , 25s' , 26~' ,and <br />28`~ . Weather observations were made on the twelve days worked of this fourteen-day reporting <br />period. <br />Construction Synopsis <br />Ames Construction Inc. (Ames) of Aurora, Colorado is the earthworks contractor for the Phase Na, b, <br />and c construction. Ames conducted Phase Na, b, and c construction activities on twelve days of this <br />fourteen-day reporting period. <br />Phase Na <br />Ames conditioned and re-rolled the Soil Liner Fill (SLF) south of the currently in-place geomembrane. <br />The SLF in this azea had failing moisture contents on several in-place tests. Ames used a CAT 330 <br />Excavator with a rake attachment to break up the SLF and several water truck loads were used to <br />moisture condition the SLF. Oversize materials were observed in the SLF after the area was re-worked. <br />Random test pits were excavated by hand to determine the extent of oversized materials. It was <br />determined that oversized material was from the subgrade and that it was present in the SLF over an <br />azea that was approximately 120 feet wide and extended down the entire slope length.
