P ase IVa Weekly Summary No. 56 Page 3
Ames resumed slope recontouring of the Phase Nb PSSA 2H:1 V slope.
003-2203
Ames hauled oversize material from the Phase IVb azea to an uncontrolled Fill site.
Phase Nc
Ames used a CAT D8, 992 loader, and several haul trucks to recontour, loadout, and remove
oversize and deleterious material from the saddle fill azea, south facing slope.
Ames hauled and stockpiled topsoil material to the north of the Phase Nc area.
Field Monitoring and Testing Activities
r
Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase N earthworks. All construction
materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in
accordance with project specifications. Removal of oversized and deleterious material from all fill
azeas was observed.
Golder observed construction of the Phase Na Leak Detection Trench (LDT) for trench dimensions,
geomembrane welds, geotextile overlap, and LDF. The LDT was constructed in accordance with the
drawings and specifications.
Golder visually observed the placement of DCF in the Phase IVa area. Golder had one CQA monitor
per dozer to observe DCF placement.
Golder observed and tested placement of SLF in Phase IVa, completing twenty-six in-situ density
tests (tests and retests), three depth verification tests, and verified surface preparation. Prior to
geomembrane deployment, the SLF met the requirements of the specifications.
Golder observed construction of the Phase Nb/c Temporary Diversion Channel for proper materials,
thickness, grades, and compaction. Golder also observed the concrete pour for the temporary channel
headwall. The Temporary Diversion Channel activities were performed in accordance with the
drawings and specifications.
Golder observed geomembrane deployment, documenting ambient air temperature, panel
dimensions, seaming, tie-in overlap, and seam testing (trial seams, pressure, vacuum, and
destructive). Geomembrane placed in the Phase Na azea met the project specifications.
Golder observed Structural Fill (SF) placement in Phase IVb for lift thickness, moisture content, and
compactive effort.
Golder observed excavation of the UNK-11 working. No workings were remediated during this
reporting period.
Phase IVa 561une 1629.dw Golder Associates Inc.
