backfilled the trench using approved material over installed geomembrane.
Ames continued construction of the Phase IVa Primary Underdtain (PU) at the southern end of Phase
• Na. Ames excavated trench, placed geotextile and UF, completing the construction of the Phase Na
PU. Ames continued construction of the Phase Na PU sump by placing 40-mil geomembrane,
Bedding Fill, and 12-inch PCPE pipe.
Ames began placement of Drain Cover Fill (DCF) in the Phase Na area on June 6~'. Ames began
placement of DCF on the 9640 bench in Upper Arequa Gulch working from the north to the south.
Ames continued excavation and construction of the Phase Na Leak Detection Fill (LDF). Ames
excavated a 1 foot by 1 foot trench, placed 40-mil LLDPE liner, placed 12 oz geotextile, and placed
Leak Detection Fill. At geomembrane splices Ames had POLYFLEX extrusion weld the seam.
Ames continued construction of the Permanent Diversion Channel by placing Type H riprap at the inlet
to the 84-inch CSP.
POLYFLEX continued to receive 80-mil geomembrane for Phase Na and began to receive 100-mil
geomembrane for Phase Nb.
POLI'FLEX continued deployment of 80-mil LLDPE geomembrane. POLYFLEX deployed 80-mil
single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane over an azea of 186,388 sf during this reporting period.
Geomembrane panel P-85 through P-135 were deployed, seamed, and tested by POLYFLEX.
Destructive seam samples DF-30 through DF-52 and DX-3 through DX-5 were mazked, removed, and
tested.
Ames did not perform confirmation drilling in the Phase Na azea during this reporting period.
Phase Nb
Ames continued Structural Fill (SF) placement and compaction activities above the 9640 road between
stations 2+00 and 8+00. Structural Fill materials were placed in horizontal lifts typically not exceeding
2 feet in loose thickness. A Catezpillaz CS563C roller provided compactive effort, while a Caterpillaz
water wagon provided moisture conditioning when needed. Ames continued recontouring the Phase III
ore slope on the South side of the Phase N PSSA in prepazation for Bedding Fill (BF} placement.
Ames continued construction of the Phase Nb/c Temporary Diversion Channel on June 6s' by
beginning trench excavation for the 36-inch CSP. Ames excavated, bedded, assembled, placed thrust
blocks, and backfilled the entire length of the CSP. Ames also constructed the plunge pool at the outlet
of the 36-inch CSP by excavating the pool, placing Granulaz Filter Material (GFM), and placing Type L
riprap. Prepazation for the construction of the inlet structure also began during this reporting period.
Ames performed excavation remediation activities of known underground workings UG-214 and UG-
215. The workings were observed and verified to be "Deep" as defined in the drawings and will be
remediated accordingly.
u
rn~,~rvassmMz-isa« Golder Associates Inc.
