<br />EXHIBIT "D" <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />(a) When and what depth of overburden will be replaced in relation to extraction. <br />The primary excavation will be in the thread of the North Fork of the Arikaree River, with little [o <br />no removal of any overburden. <br />(b) Maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes (horizontal:vertical). <br />The maximum gradient on reclaimed backslopes will be 3H:1 V or flatter, to accommodate the <br />rangeland use proposed by the applicant/owner. <br />(c) Measures that will be taken to revegetate the site. <br />(i) Thickness of the topsoil to be replaced. <br />It is anticipated that 6" to 10" of topsoil will be replaced on the low backsloped banks of [he channel. <br />(ii) Time of seeding, seedbed preparation, type, application rate and soil incorporaton, method <br />of fertilizer application. <br />Fall seeding is proposed and historically has provided the best results. The seedbed will probably <br />be disked across slope to prepare the seedbed. Fertilizer has not been recommended by the local <br />SCS office at this time. <br />(iii) State the species to be planted and applicable quantities. <br />The High Plains Soil Conservation District with office in Hugo, recommends the following mix: <br />Species % of Mix PLS/A <br />Blue grama 25 0.375 <br />Sideoats grama 40 1.80 <br />Western wheatgrass 25 2.00 <br />Switchgrass 10 0.25 <br />Total 100% 4.425 PLS <br />(iv) Application method for grass seeding. <br />The seed will be applied by a drill with a competent agitator. Seed will be drilled across the slope <br />on backslopes. If seed should be broadcast, the rate will be doubled. <br />D-1 <br />
