•
Exibits
Page 2
It is the intention of Midway.$and & Gravel, Inc. to hide the quarry as much
as possible from traffic visi ity along I-25.
The mining equipment to be use 11 portable, and will not require any public
servi~:es such as water, electrici r gas.
We will from time to time use the south mining area, depending on type of
material needed. There is approximately 25 acres iy,,ts~~re~~l~~.c s been
previously mined. ~ ~ ~r ~ ~i~.
EXHIB7-T E - RECLAMATION PLAN "~" J U~J 7 ~J$g
As indicated in the Mining Plan (Exhibit D), the areak}gpy~ptlehd~aliied from the
northwest to :t he southeast. Approximately thregzztpp~~~f~QiJpp,FiC91+87fkIA5~~~`en removed
and stockpiled for future reclamation use. We wi~Y remove topsoil as we
proceE~d on a southeast direction to use for reclamation.
The proposed area consists of high flat top bluffs, which after mining will be
similar in appearance, but will be lowered by twenty to forty feet. During
reclamation, all efforts will be made to keep the contour of the area looking
as natural as possible.
It is estimated that the operation will take approximately twenty years to
complete. After the area is mined, it will be reclaimed to grassland, following
those guidelines established by the Soil Conservation Service (letter attached).
It ha:: been agreed that the seed mixture suggested ty the Soil Conservation
Service be alternated as recommended by the Mined Land Reclamation staff to
include Western Wheatgrass and Russian Wildrye.
We anticipate reclaiming part of the north mining section as soon as we remove
the sand and gravel from the northwest section. As we proceed our mining
operation to the southeast, we intend to reclaim the area to the northwest,
and the northeast, and work to the southeast. This will enable us to have all
reclamation complete soon after mining is complete.
We will reclaim the south mining area as soon as we finish mining the 5 acres
that are left in this area. We anticipate this section to be completed within
2 years.
EXHIBIT F - RECLAMATION MAP
The affected area after reclamation will be plateaus, and a minimum of 4:1
sideslopes which will be daylighted to existing ground. All reclaimed areas
will meet the unaffected land.
EXHIBIT G - WATER INFORMATION
The mining operation will consist of dry screening and crushing, no water
resources will be used. There is no surface water, streams or ponds on the
property. The surrounding land is relatively flat and bluffs, and there is
no major drainage through the mining area. There has been erosion control dams
constructed ty others to prevent sediment from entering Fountain Creek, as per
recomm~=ndation by Soil Conversation Service.
