Honeywood Coal Company
Stormwater Management Plan
' Page 2
4. Description of Potential Pollutant Sources/Material Inventory
' a. No materials are or have been treated, stored or disposed
of in a manner to allow exposure to stormwater discharge.
b. No significant spills or leaks of toxic or hazardous
pollutants have occurred at the facility.
c. The stormwater generated by this mining operations will
not potentially contain any pollutants except sediment.
' d. No existing discharge sampling exists for stormwater
discharges.
5. Stormwater Ouality Controls
'
a. SWMP Administrator: The individuals within the mining
organization responsible for developing the SWMP and
assisting the mine operator in the implementation of the
' plan are Jim Stover and L. Kirt Jewkes with J. E. Stover
& Associates, 2768 Compass Drive, STE 101, Grand
Junction, CO, 80506, phone 245-4101.
t
b. Risk Identification and Assessment: The stormwater
generated by this mining operation will not potentially
contain any pollutants except sediment. There is no
' source of process water that could become mixed with
stormwater. There is no loading or unloading operations;
outdoor storage of chemicals or equipment; outdoor
milling or processing activities; historic: mine drainage;
tailings ponds; crushing facilities or significant dust
or particulate generating activities; on-site waste
' disposal practices or stockpiles of overburden, raw
material, intermediate products, byproducts, finished
products or waste products that have any potential for
' contributing pollutants to stormwater runoff.
c. Preventive Maintenance: Preventive maintenance is
required in two types of areas. The two areas include
t the haul road ditches and the outslopes of the ponds.
' The drainage ditches must be maintained, shaped and clear
to allow water to flow uninterrupted along the length of
the drainage ditches. The ditch turnouts must be
maintained, shaped and clear to assure that all of the
flow along the ditch is directed into the ditch turnout.
The sediment structure located at the end of each ditch
turnout must be kept in good repair. Sediment must be
' periodically removed from the sediment structures.
1
