(1978) inventoried the wildlife <br />on areas to the north of the proposed permit boundary which were not <br />covered in the Dames sad Moore surveys. The ERT/Ecology Consultants <br />im~estigation focused on Sections or portions of Sections 21, 22, <br />and 27 through 35, T6N, R86W, and Sections 2 Chrough 6, TSN, R86W. <br />The Environmental Assessment Report for federal coal compiled <br />by the IISDI-BLM (1979) addressed adjacent areas northwest of the <br />proposed permit area, including portions of Sections 2 and 3, TSN, <br />R86W sad Sections 34 and 35, T6N, R86W. Detailed habitat <br />• requirements of all major wildlife species on the proposed permit <br />area were presented by the D.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, DSDI -FWS <br />- OBS (1978). <br />The mammal and avian populations utilizing the proposed permit <br />area were surveyed by CYCC wildlife biologists is July sad August of <br />1980. These individuals also established three aquatic sampling <br />stations on Middle Creek and two on Fish Creek during the summer of <br />1980. The yearly monitoring of macrophytes, fish sad benthic <br />invertebrates was terminated on December 6, 1982 when the Division <br />approved a request by CYCC to curtail the aquatic monitoring <br />program. <br />.
