• Federal fish and wildlife management, conservation, or land management <br />agencies having responsibilities for fish and wildlife or their habitats, <br />shall determine the level of detail and the areas of such studies, <br />according to: <br />(a) Published data and other information; <br />(b) Site-specific information obtained by the applicant; and <br />(c) Written guidance obtained from agencies consulted. <br />(4) The potential for impacts to rare and endangered animal species <br />shall be evaluated by the Division in consultation with appropriate <br />Federal and State agencies. <br />• RESPONSE: <br />Numerous site specific fish and wildlife resource <br />investigations have been conducted at Mine No. 3. The following <br />narrative is a compendium of the information generated by the <br />baseline studies. <br />The first comprehensive wildlife survey of the proposed permit <br />and adjacent areas was completed in 1975 by Dames and Moore. This <br />study examined terrestrial fauna in Sections 1, 12, 13 and portions <br />of Sections 2, 11, and 14, TSN, R86W; Sections 5, 6, 7, S, 17 and <br />18, TSN, R85W; Sections 25, 36 and portions of Sections 26 and 35, <br />• T6N, R86W; and Sections 30, 31, and 32, T6N, R85W.
