The soil teature <br />within this type has a large percentage of the soil moisture <br />available for plant growth. <br />Brome hay plant communities are dominated by grasses with <br />Smooth Brome, Western 4lheatgrass, and Kentucky Bluegrass comprising <br />42.5, 15.4 and 15.4 percent of the total cover respectively. Total <br />cover on the Brome Hay vegetation type ie 24.7 percent and annual <br />herbaceous production is 18.1 g/km2. A summary of the Brome Hay <br />Vegetation type ie presented in Table 15. <br />• Big Sagebrush Vegetation Type <br />The Big Sagebrush Vegetation Type ie the predominant plant <br />community on the proposed permit area and occurs throughout the <br />permit area on a variety of elopes and aspects. Soils associated <br />with pastureland are generally fairly deep and have goad water <br />holding capacity. Testate of the soil ranges from moderately fine <br />to moderately coarse and can be gravelly or stony. A large <br />percentage of the soil moisture is available for plant growth. <br />Big Sagebrush and Snovberry dominate this vegetation type with <br />a combined cover value of 63.5 percent. The underatory is dominated <br />by wheatgraeees and Arrowleaf Balsamroot. The total plant cover on <br />• the type is 39.5 percent and production was measured to be 23.4 <br />g/'zm2.
