• Generally, it was found that the shales and clayatones have <br /> relatively high erodibility and compaction factors and that <br /> sandstones and siltstones had very low erodibility factors and low <br />to moderate compaction factors. <br />Physical Properties of Overburden <br />Specific Gravity of Overburden <br />Three samples of the sandstones and shales lying above the <br />Wadge Coal Seam at Mine No. 3 were obtained and submitted for <br />analysis. The samples were representative of the materials <br />constituting the overburden stratigraphic sequence.
