• The general area, with respect to surface water, is <br />approximately coincident with the general area defined by the ground <br />water basin and includes tvo watersheds containing perennial <br />streams: the watershed of Fiah Creek and the watershed of lower <br />Trout Creek. The size of the general area was carefully chosen to <br />be Large enough to provide an adequate assessment of the impacts <br />created by the mining operations and small enough to eliminate <br />"masking" or confounding effects from other existing mining areas, <br />specifically, the Edna Mine on Ttout Creek approximately seven miles <br />upstream of the confluence of Fiah Creek and Trout Creek. The <br />general area, adjacent area and proposed permit area with respect to <br />both surface water and ground water are all delineated on Map 1, <br />Tweatymile Park Hydrology. <br />• <br />(b) If this information is not available from those agencies, <br />the applicant may gather and submit this information to the Division as <br />part of the permit application. <br />(c) The permit shall not be approved by the Division until <br />this information is made available in the application. <br />(2) The use of approved modeling techniques may be included as part <br />of the permit application, but the same surface and ground water <br />information may be required for each site as when models are not used. <br />• <br />2.04-16 <br />
