• RESPONSE:
All information required by Rule 2.04.5 (1)(b) for permit
approval accompanies this permit application. This information is
presented under Bules 2.04.5 - 2.04.7. Detailed data and
information have been gathered, compiled and analyzed by CYCC for
all lands within the proposed permit area, the adjacent area and the
general area. Information gathered by CYCC is a .result of
ezploratory drilling; field investigations; geologic mapping,
monitoring and testing of numerous wells, piezometers and stream
gaging stations, stations, and monitoring of climatological
stations.
• With respect to hydrology, modeling techniques were used in
this application to derive specific baseline parameters of water
quantity and quality, and in determining the probable hydrologic
consequences of surface mining activities. Modeling techniques were
adapted from the OSM handbook publication, Coal Mining and
Reclamation Operations, Part 1, the Determination of the Probable
Hydrologic Consequences, May 1980. The specific modeling techniques
that were used are explained in detail under 2.04.7 and 2.05.6(3).
(3) Permit applications may comply with the requirements of 2.04.5
(1), 2.04.6 (1)(a), 2.04.6 (2)(a) and 2.04.7 by providing accurate
• descriptive and predictive information relating to geology, water quality
and quantity for the area to be affected over the estimated life of the
2.04-17
