RECLAMATION PLAN
EXHIBIT E (coot)
P~2~
The operator may have to apply fertilizers to the seedbed
before planting to enhance the natural nutrients in the soil.
Topsoiled areas may also be tested during the beginning of the
second year and fertilizer added accordingly because the soils
may lose their nutrients rapidly. The MRCS made no recommends
but if used it will be a mix of Nitrogen (Na), Phosphorus (PZOS)
and Potassium (R) based on soil analysis for the seedbed.
S~EDBSD PRSPARAT/ON
When the shaping is complete and the soils have been spread,
the surface where seed is to be drilled, will be smoothed of
large clods and worked until moderately fine. The surface will
be left fairly rough where seed is to be broadcast. As noted
above a dozer will be run over the seeded slopes to create
indentations that will hold the moisture and reduce runoff.
SS8DIIVG T7bfS
The grass seed mixture will be planted between October 1 and
April 30 (before the first freeze and after the last freeze) of
any given year. The time of planting will be controlled by when
the seedbed areas are ready for planting. If tests indicated
fertilizer is needed it will be tilled into the seedbed prior to
seeding.
GRASSES
Ms. Heeney of the NRCS has recommended the following seed
mixture for the area. She chose to use only two grass types in
the mix so we added the Slender Wheatqrass. The use of the
Slender Wheatgrass will provide a protective cover for the other
grasses and help hold moisture on the ground thru the winter.
The number of Pounds-Pure Live Seed (#PLS) shown are from her
recommendations shown in the Soils and Vegetation section.
