RECLAMATION PLAN EXHIBIT E Icontl
-Y® CONTROL
The revegetated areas will be monitored closely each spring
for the first two years to determine if weeds are invading the
area. Weed control will be initiated if the problem becomes
serious or has not resolved itself by the end of the second year.
In no way should this be taken to mean that we will try to
eradicate the weeds from the property. Some weeds are beneficial
to the wildlife in the area by providing protection from the
elements during winter. Total eradication of weeds from the site
is not necessary desirable, so the operator will be using con-
trols on the noxious weeds and letting the rest grow in select
areas.
The MRCS report does not indicate that there is a noxious
weed problem on the site now. However, we will be working with
the Grand County weed control agent to start selected control as
needed. It may be necessary to control weeds by mowing after the
first year; the feasibility of chemical weed control methods will
be studied should it be necessary.
IRRIGATION
No irrigation is planned for revegetated area in the pit, it
tends to make the vegetation dependent on water and does not
promote a vegetation cover that is diverse and capable of self
regeneration.
WBl7ANDtS
Part of the initial review that was done on this property
was to determine the amount of wetlands on the site, if any.
That research indicated there are limited wetland areas associ-
ated with a spring on the southwest part of the site. Mining
activities will not disturb this area.
RSCLAb~ATION PSW~IORMANCS STANDARAS
The property will be mined in compliance with the Reclama-
tion Performance Standards of Rule 6. Grading will be performed
to create a final topography that is compatible with the intended
final land use. The slopes will be graded to retain the present
site drainage pattern. The RECLAMAl10N PLAN MAP shows how the area
will be reclaimed.
Some imported fill materials may be used for bank sloping,
this material may consist of broke concrete or other materials
15
