~ ! ~
' RECLAMATION PLAN
The Reclamation Plan has been designed to complement the
surrounding area where recreation and open space currently are the
predominant land uses. To the south, the site borders the County
Nature Preserve and the Regional Park and Fairgrounds. The future
' lake will complement the Nature Preserve, allow for additional area
for wildlife habitation, and provide boating and fishing opportunities.
' Biking, hiking, and equestrian trails can actually be planned and
incorporated in a schematic pattern around the lake, linking that
1 area with other sections of the Regional Park.
' Site reclamation will follow each of the two phases pre-
viously mentioned and include stockpile removal; grading; sloping;
' landform construction; topsoiling; fertilizing and revegetation, in-
cluding seeding and tree planting. After removal of all extraneous
materials, the grading will commence with the slopes meeting the min-
' imum zoning requirements for the County.* Replacement of top soil
will occur in the disturbed area at a depth ranging from three to six
' inches. Soil fertilization will be accomplished with phosphate and
' manure applied at a rate of 200 lbs./acre. Approximately 5U trees
will be planted around the lake as part of the reclamation Effort.
' Some landforms will be constructed during the grading stage of recla-
matiori and will provide both topographic relief to the flatness of
' the landscape and visual enhancement of the site along the western
1
' * "In no event shall a slope of less than 2:1 be left for dry pit,
or a slope of less than 3:1 to a depth of 8 feet and 2:1 thereafter
for a wet pit when operations are completed."
