All excavation work
' will remain a minimum distance of 25 feet from the South Platte
River embankment. In some locations the distance wil:~ be up
' to 150 feet as specified by Leonard Rice Consulting Waiter En-
gineers to prevent downstream damage in case of flooding.
' The existing haulage route from the mining site i.s through
' the Adams County Regional Park. A gravel portion of t:he haul-
age road can be watered by tank truck to suppress fugitive dust
' when such conditions arise. Amore direct route from the site
to Riverdale Road has been proposed to avoid the park route.

Phase II - Phase II, consisting of approximately 12 acres,
' will include the parcel which is located to the north of Phase I.
The remaining 16 acres of the property will not be directly util-
' ized for mining purposes. Fencing will be extended at that time
to enclose the entire site and the extraction process will be con-
1 f
ducted in the same manner as Phase I, with similar amounts o
aggregate being removed annually. The existing model airplane
facility will be moved to another site within the park when min-
' ing commences in Phase II. The second phase will take approx-
imately five years to complete.

If feasible, a small island will be left in the lake to
' enhance future recreation uses and to serve as a waterfowl hab-
itat area. This will be located midway across the lake where
' the existing fence crosses the property on the NE-SE angle. The
size of the island will be approximately 2.5 acres and its location

is shown on the RECLAMATION PLAN D1AP on Page C-4.
B-3
