the Colorado State Forest Service in Fort Collins, but some will have
• to be found prior to planting. Most shrubs that are not available from
the Colorado State Forest Service would have to be obtained from
private dealers, transplants, or growing of the plants by Castle
Concrete Company near the site.
The distribution of the shrubs would be in scattered clumps
of an irregular form with between 5 and perhaps 20 to 25 shrubs
per clump. A continuous cover with shrubs is not the objective, but
rather to produce a diverse and interesting texture to the site
that would produce the kinds of illusions necessary to soften any
harsh lines.
Trees may be planted on the top two terraces where material
is deep enough to create a shallow depression which can be filled. The
objective of planting the trees would be to try to break up the
• horizontal line that will be produced along the property boundary. Very
few trees would actually have to be used if they were placed in just
such a manner as to produce the irregular line desired. A combination
of trees and shrubs would be the ultimate goal on the terraces.
Location and planting procedures cannot be given with any
precision at this time. Each species will have to be handled individually
with respect to the available sites during any planting time. Only the
general pattern and density can be described.
INDUSTRIAL PARK AREA - The area proposed for an industrial park will
be handled somewhat differently from the quarry. Because most of this
area will be the last area to be affected the actual treatment will
have to await that time.
.
