The sand and gravel
source is a dry terrace deposit and no ground water will be
exposed. We stated in our application that the pit operation will
be developed in such a manner that no stormwater will be permitted
to leave the permit site. We will accomplish this in the sloping
of the mine and the placement of overburden piles around the pit.
It is our understanding that if we do not plan to discharge
stormwater from the affected site that a stormwater permit is not
required. The purpose of this letter is to demonstrate to the DMG
that consideration for stormwater regulations has occurred.
Thank you, and if you have any questions please call.
Sin ere y,
nnis irtland
Vice President
cc: James Dillie, Division of Minerals and Geology
wp60\permits\coheelth
AN EOUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
