C~

Stage 4: Stage 4 is the final reclamation phase wherein
mining is completed and soils (overburden and
topsoil) are removed from the respective
stockpiles, replaced and spread on the Stage 3
area which is the final remainira disturbed
area. Seeding will be executed per the
approved reclamation plan.
Drainage Control:
Drainage will be controller by the
installation of a temporary ditch thrcugh the pit
area from the Stage 1 area through the Stage 3 area
flowing easterly until the drainage ditca daylights
and adjoins the existing borrow ditch of Colorado
Highway 14 at NE boundary of the Stage 3 area.
If a steep section where the ditca adjoins the
Highway 14 borrow ditch is created that exceeds a
38 flow gradient, a drop structure of appropriate
riprap (local rock) will be installed.
Pit Depth:
The designed pit depth is determined to be
approximately 15 to 20 vertical feet. The final
pit bottom elevation is to be controlled by the
above described drainage ditch that
daylights/drains to the east of the prcposed mining
area. In this manner, sufficient drainage is
available via gravity flow from the proposed mine.
Pit/Pile Slope Angle:
Pit wails or stockpiles shall -:ct exceed a
slope angle of 3H:lV.
Access Road (haul road):
A haul road shall be constructed accessing the
northern boundary of the proposed mi^e area from
Colorado Highway 14. At the proposed intersection
of the haul road and the Highway 14 borrow ditch, a
drainage culvert pipe (CMP), not less than 24
inches in diameter, will be installed.
The haul road will be removed and reclaimed
after mining operations are comple*_e unless the
landowner (Colorado State La..^.d Board)
requests/approves, it remains for peraaaent access.
