<br />3.3 Drainage Diversion Channels <br />Drainage diversion channels shall be excavated to the lines <br />and grades shown in the construction drawings. Excavated materials <br />i , shall be used as fill materials or placed in the desiynated areas <br />as shown in the drawings, or properly spread and contoured along <br />side the trench so as to grade into the natural topography. <br /> 3.4 Cuts and Slopes <br /> <br /> The Contractor shall inspect all temporary and permanent open- <br /> cut excavations on a regular basis for signs of instability. <br /> Should signs of instability be noted, the Contractor shall <br /> undertake remedial measures immediately and shall notify the <br /> Engineer as soon as possible. It will be the Contractor's <br /> responsibility to remove all loose materials from the excavated <br /> slopes and to maintain the slopes in a safe and stable condition at <br /> all times during the progress of the work and during and temporary <br /> closure of the work.
