<br />3.0 EXCAVATION <br />3.1 General <br />All excavations shall be made to the lines and grades shown in <br />the construction drawings. Any and all excavations beyond these <br />1 limits except as directed by the Engineer, shall be at the expense <br />of the Contractor. <br /> All necessary precautions shall be taken to preserve the <br /> material below and beyond the lines of excavation in the soundest <br /> possible condition. Excavated materials not used as <br /> fill shall be placed in the designated area as shown in the <br /> drawings or as directed by the Engineer. Material <br />i excavated from the ponds shall be used to supplement the native <br /> borrow soils in constructing the perimeter berm around the ponds <br />I and leach facilities, and/or grade and remove any irregularities in <br /> the surface of the leach pad.
