ARTICLE 15 - Lessee to Refill, Rc rade end <br />' ~ ~~~ Recon t on the Premises •~ <br />' Upon the completion of any mining operations, the <br />Lessee shall promptly comply with the specifications and <br />requirements of all laws end regulations relating'to reclama- <br />tion of mined lands. Such work shall be done to the satisfac- <br />! tion of the governmental agency end other public bodies or <br />• ~ officials having charge thereof. Nhen requested in writing <br />by Lessor, Lessee shall release and surrender such part of <br />the surface of the leased premises as may be owned by Lessor <br />when, in the sole opinion of Lessee, such surface is no <br />I <br />r longer needed for mining operations and shall leave the <br />! surface in such a manner as not to be in violation oP any <br />then existing laws or. regulations. Upon such release by <br />Lessee, Lessor shall relieve Lessee of all liabilities and <br />obligations respecting said lands. {dhen coal is removed by <br />stripping, ooen pit, auger or similar methods the land will <br />be reclaimed in such a manner that insofar as possible it <br />will have the same value for ranching and other operations <br />as prior to the mining operations. Insofar as possible, top <br />soil will be stockpiled and replaced on the surface, the <br />land will be fertilized and reseed ed with grass, and boulders <br />•~ and dead vegetation will be buried. As far as possible, <br />stock watering springs will be preserved or restored and <br />Lessee will use maximum efforts to prevent erosion. <br />No seam or bed of coal shall be mined in such <br />manner as to destroy any overlying or underlying seam, the <br />coal ~in which overlying or underlying seam is, at the time, <br />of merchantable quality and capable of being mined at a rea- <br />sonable profit.
