r~
Section 780.12(bj Continued.
Sedimentation Ponds
The existing sedimentation ponds at the Marr Mine and Kerr tipple are
shown and numbered on Map 28, Kerr Mine Existing Structures and Map
29, Kerr Tipple Area Existing Structures. All of these sedimentation
ponds were reconstructed in 1979 and 1980 to comply with the
performance standards of Subchapter K (Permanent Program Standards).
Sedimentation ponds within the proposed disturbed area which were
abandoned as a result of the new sedimentation and drainage control
plan have been removed and reclaimed in accordance with Section
780.18.
Kerr Coal's comprehensive sedimentation and drainage control plan for
the entire operation also involved the construction of new
sedimentation ponds and diversion ditches. All new sedimentation
ponds have been designed to comply with the requirements of
Subchapter K as described in Section 780.25.
The locations of all new or existing sedimentation ponds are shown on
Map 16a, Kerr Mine Area Surface Water Hydrology and Map 17a, Kerr
Tipple Area Hydrology.
Power Lines
\ Kerr coal utilizes only two powerlines, as shown on Map 28, Kerr Mine
Existing Structures and Map 29, Kerr Tipple Area Existing Structures.
One power line is a 14.4KV line which services the shop, office, and
warehouse facility. The other is a 14.4KV line which services the
tipple facilities. Electric power for both the mine and tipple is
obtained from Mountain Parks Electric. The power pole diagrams for
the two lines are shown on Figure 15, Existing Power Pole Diagram
(Mine) and Figure 16, Existing Power Pole Diagram (Tipple). Both
existing power lines were installed during 1974. Kerr Coat does not
plan to install any additional power lines.
89-22R Revised - January, 1991
