~~
Section 780.12(b) Continued.
Drainage from the explosives bunker area is collected in
Sedimentation Pond 8 as shown on Map 16a, Kerr Mine Area Hydrology.
This structure has been designed to meet the performance standards of
Subchapter K as described in Section 780.25. The plans and
specifications for this pond are found in Exhibit 42, Drainage and
Sediment Control Plan. Construction of the pond was completed during
the summer of 1980. No modifications of any kind are planned for the
explosive bunker.
Railroad
The Kerr Tipple is located on a railroad spur connecting Jackson
County and the Union Pacific main line in Laramie, Wyoming. This
line was constructed in 1911 to provide freight service to Jackson
County and to service coal mining operations located several miles
_ out of Walden, at Coalmont, Colorado. The line has been abandoned
south of the Kerr tipple and is presently used primarily for coal
transport from the Marr Strip ql.
Drainage from that portion of the railroad right-of-way which is
located within the permit boundary is collected in a Sedimentation
Pond as shown on Map 29, Kerr Tipple Existing Structures. This pond
was designed to meet the performance standards of Subchapter K, as
described in Section 780.25, and was constructed during the fall of
1979. The designs and specifications for this pond are included in
Exhibit 42, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan.
The railroad spur is owned and maintained by the Wyoming Colorado
Railroad. Figure 14, Existing Railroad Cross Section, depicts a
typical section of the railroad spur. There are no plans to modify
~ or alter the railroad spur or Sedimentation Pond.
780-21R Revised - January, 1991
