• • <br />Mr. Joe Kurys - 3 - September 2, 1992 <br />Exhibit C <br />The thickness of the overburden is indicated to be 18". The thickness of <br />the topsoil to be replaced is said to be 12" on Exhibit E map. No <br />mention is made of any intention to stockpile, and/or stabilize topsoil <br />from the site until its replacement. The question exists if topsoil is <br />to be imported for reclamation. <br />The applicant should commit to the salvage of 12" of topsoil, in order to <br />provide for replacement or that thickness. Any stockpiling of this <br />rnateriai must be described as well as how and with what the stockpiles <br />are to be stabilized, e.g., vegetated. Locations of the stockpiles <br />should be indicated on the Exhibit E maps.' <br />the locations of any overburden stockpiles, separate from topsoil <br />stockpiles, are not indicated although some separation or 12" of topsoil <br />from the 18" of total overburden is indicated. <br />If topsoil is to be separated from the remainder of the overburden, then <br />any stockpiles of overburden should be indicated on the Exhibit E maps. <br />l'he Division accepts the applicants' commitment not to disturb over <br />10 acres, but the locations of the intended areas of disturbance, <br />~a.g. pits, steckpiles are not indicated on any map so that the amount of <br />disturbed area can be confirmed. <br />the applicant, as requested earlier in :his revie~.+, should indicate where <br />the areas of disturbance, i.e. pits, stockpiles, etc. are to be located <br />on the E:<hibit E moos. <br />Nothing is provided t~~.at indicates Ncs. 8 througn 13 or 'the application <br />form were considered dy the applicant. <br />The applicant should indicate that he :nos considered the issues raised by <br />Ncs. 8 through 13 of the application `orm and either provide the <br />information requested or indicate suc~ concerns are not applicable to <br />this proposed operation. <br />E:<hibit D <br />The applicant has indicated on pane 3 ~f the application that he intends <br />the primary future (post mining) lane r 2 to be sold waste disposal. <br />The statement under E~nibit D indicates the intent by the city to replace <br />the gravel removed •.vith adobe taken '-om city streets. <br />The applicant must make clear the nar;r= of all material to be piac?d in <br />the areas of excavated gravel, e.g. ~:~".~ the solid waste consist on1•i of <br />this adobe or will other ~.vaste be disco>ed her?? If other waste fs to be <br />placed here, the nature of that rust? -:.,.t be described and its <br />hydrologic impacts evaluated under E~r'bit C. Other county or state <br />permits may be required if this aria '; actually to be a landfill. <br />There i5 no indication cf the maximum ;radient of the reclaimed slopes <br />for that portion of the affected area `n the NE SW Section 32, i.a., <br />north of and adjacent t~ East Drive. <br />
