Prom 12" to 3G" of top soil shall be removed and stockpiled
for reclamation purposes on the eastern boundary of the pit.
As conditions require, tt~e mined substances will Ue pushed into the pit by
bulldozers worlang outward from the centcr,of an existing pit, or front-end
loaders ~.aill remove materials directly from the pit walls at the bottom of the
pit. idherc remova.i can be effected by the first method, sufficient slope will
be maintained aC all times to permit the movement of equipment' from ground level
to the floor of tl~e pit in the area of operations. lJherc removal from the
bottom is required, sufficient slope will be maintained to provide latteral and
subjacent support. These procedures will result in a gradual expanding of the
boundaries of the pit until the boundaries of the affected area have been
reached.
Once gravel has been moved to or removed from the bottom of tl:e pit, bulldozers
will be used to consolidate the mined materials into stockpiles.
