The more finely teatured <br />waste dump material will be spread following scarification <br />of the area if it proves to be suitable as a growing medium. <br />Revegetation <br />Revegetation is planned for all affected lands .except <br />those roads that were pre-existing. (This ie a stipulation <br />in the lease agreement). At present, on recommendation <br />by the surface owners, the Bureau of Land Management, the <br />following seeding mixture is proposed: <br />Species <br />Crested wheatgrass <br />Western wheatgrass <br />Four-wing saltbush <br />Indian ricegrasa <br />Yellow sweetclover <br />TOTAL BROADCAST RATE <br />Rate of Application (Broadcast) <br />4 pounds/acre <br />4 pounds/acre <br />3 pounds/acre <br />2 pounds/acre <br />3 pounds/acre <br />16 pounds/acre <br />The seedbed will be prepared by harrowing aad seed will <br />be broadcast or hand sown at the rate specified above. <br />All revegetation details (mixtures, fertilization; methods, <br />mulching, etc.) are subject to change due to experimentation <br />and technological advances. All reclamation will be of <br />the dryland type without benefit of irrigation. <br />The proposed seed mixture is readily available at several <br />commercial seed dealers•in the Grand Junction and Montrose <br />area. Preferred time of planting is late summer to early <br />fall. <br />-2- <br />
