u
a. The operator shall comply with all applicable Colorado water laws.
b. The operator shall comply with all applicable federal and state water quality laws
and regulations.
c. The operator shall comply with all Federal and State requirements for dredge acid
fill.
d. The operator shall regrade all sediment and siltation structures after mining is
completed unless such structures are to be used for wetlands mitigation.
Croundwnter -Specific Requirements
The operation will not affect groundwater quality on or off the site. The operation will comply
with State groundwater quality standards. Due to the absence of any pollutants, groundwater
quality monitoring is not required in this operation. ,
Wildlife ? ~3~2-~~ '~~~
i
The proposed reclamation plan does not propose to create wildlife habitat. All activi[i swill be
planned considering the safety and protection of wildlife on the property. Some species maybe
temporarily displaced by the mining activities. These species are expected to re-establish with
no difficulty after the reclamation has been completed. The creation of the lake may create
additional opportunities for aquatic birds, mammals and fish.
Topsoiling
The top two to six inches of soil on the property is classified as topsoil. This layer includes the
root zone of the grasses and crops which will be stripped and stockpiled sepazately. By using
concurrent reclamation techniques, the topsoil is expected to remain in stockpiles for one to two
years. If the stockpile remains more than one growing season, it will be seeded with Sorgrum or
Western Wheatgrass to prevent erosion. A majority of the topsoil will be transported off the
pemritted site but sufficient amounts shall be retained to reclaim the property.
Topsoil will be replaced, where required, in reclaimed areas at a depth of approximately four to
six inches. vfr ~~L~~ _ O~a_t~i~ ._ O __p ~[~!,
Revegetation ~/lG^o~.a*<cc~tc'=,.^y~'~,~o~'"~y5'-~"~. `r"`~'
The purpose of revegetation is to re-establish grass lands. Slopes will be no greater than 3:1.
The grasses were selected to be long lasting and regenerate themselves. The ground will be fine
graded and prepared for seeding. Fertilizers will be used according to recommendations from
the Soil Conservation Services. The operator will contact the Soil Conservation Service
periodically throughout reclamation for soil tests. No interior side slopes of [he reservoir will be
reseeded.
If a significant invasion of noxious weeds occurs, the area will be mowed periodically for
control. Weeds will be mowed before they go to seed during the first growing season.
Tnnnbe Pri
DM1fG l 12 Pernril
Pnge 8 of 46
