<br />Mechanical control will be used as a first priority. Chemical methods will only be used ifno <br />other alternative produces acceptable results. <br />As mining operations are completed, the area will be graded and shaped. Runoff or excess water <br />from adjacent areas will not be allowed to flow over any of the slopes. Berms will be <br />constructed to divert [his excess water and dispose of it in a safe and non-erosive manner. <br /> <br />Based on [he soils in the azea, the following seeding mixtures are recommended: <br />Vaughn Side Oats Grama <br />Grenville Swithgrass <br />Covington Blue Grama <br />Barton Western Wheatgrass <br />30% 1.35#PLS/ac <br />20% 0.5 #PLS/ac. <br />20% 0.3 #PLS/ac. <br />30% 2.4 #PLS/ac. <br /><a~-~ <br />-OR- <br />Barton Western Wheatgrass <br />Luna Pubescent Wheatgrass <br />Lincoln Smooth Bromegrass <br />40% 3.2 #PLS/ac. <br />40% 3.6 #PLS/ac. <br />40% 1.30 #PLS/ac. <br />Seeds will be planted with a drill equipped with depth bands and press wheels. The seeded areas <br />will then be covered with straw mulch at a rate of 2,000 pounds per acre.
