ENVIRONMENT. INC. PARE 9
HILOAM BTONE BEDROCK MINE
M.L.R.6. PERMIT i~ M-97-066
JANUARY 7, 1996
(3) I used a cut fill process to calculate sloping needs. In
this method you only have to use the upper 10 feet of the
bank to create the 3h to lv slope of the hole is 20 feet
deep. The cross-section on the Typical Sketch is the same
one as shown on page 17 of the application text but the
dimension are added to clarify what I was trying to show.
The lengths of the slopes needing to be reduced are shown on
the sketch. Attached is a Revised Exhibit L using the new
lengths and areas shown on the sketch.
6.4.13 Exhibit M -Other Permits and Licenses
We will comply with all other government permitting require-
ments as we understand them. As mining progress around the area
we will obtain any other permits if and when they are necessary.
Thank you for the reminder.
6.4.14 Exhibit N -Source of Legal Right to Enter
A copy of the lease is attached for your file.
11.4.15 Exhibit O -Owners of Record of Affected Land and Owner of Substance
to be Mined
The local phone provider is U.S. west and there is no
recorded R.O.W. in the County Assessors records. In addition,
the pedestals are not marked with the owner's name, so we noti-
fied U.S. West.
6.4.19 Exhibit S -Permanent Man-Made Structures
I do not believe the fences will be impacted by mining since we
will mine no closer that 25 feet. The nature of the rock being
mine is such that when mined leaves a very stable vertical face.
This is evident along road cuts and canyons traversing the site.
It is likely that the posts have been set in the dirt covering
the rock base. The underlying rock is so stable that a slope
failure is remote in this shallow mine. I think the same analy-
sis could apply to the power line and communication line. Proof
is that there is a pole located across the road from the existing
mine and it has not been impacted by mining. In places the
communication line is buried in a trench across bare rock and it
was cemented in. If you feel an agreement is still in order for
these lines we will commit to not mining with in 200 feet of
these structures (except next to the existing mine) until I can
do an in depth engineering analysis or we can get an agreement
from the owners of these structures.
6.5 Geotechnical Stability Exhibit.
I understand this requirement, I don't like it but, I under-
stand it. Blasting on this site is not like that you would
normally see in a quarry because we do not want to break the rock
