ENVIRONMENT, ING. PADE 1 O
HILDAM 6TONE - BEDROCK MINE
M.L.R.B. PERMIT i~ M-97-O B6
JANLIA RY 7, 1998
into small pieces. The blasting we do is to separate the strata
so fork lift tines can get under the top rock layer to lift and
remove the slabs. We use custom drilling and blasting. Usually
shallow holes are drilled (1' to 18") in the mine floor and
loaded with ~ sticks of powder. Prima cord controls the shot
sequence to allow strata separation and some fracturing with
limited impact. If this information is not technically adequate
may I propose that you add a stipulation to the permit that says,
"No blasting will be done on the site until Exhibit S is submit-
ted and approved by the Division^. we will submit it soon as it
is available for your review. This way the permitting process
will not be held up and the mining can begin.
The maps attached to this response are small scale drafts of
the final maps. Please review them to see if additional informa-
tion is needed and let me know the changes. If they are accept-
able I will submit larger scale prints for your file when advised
to do so.
I hope this resolves your concerns and allows you to make a
decision. Our, agreed to extension, on December 30, 1997 should
still allow us to make the January 28 board meeting if necessary.
A copy of this packet will be placed in the Pueblo Clerks' pos-
session and proof of that placement will be forwarded to you.
Thanks for your help and if you have any questions please call me
at 923-7297.
Respectfully submitted,
Environment, inc
~~~
Stevan L.
