Mr. Neil Sprague - 3 - Ja uary 14, 1986
8. An expected reclamation cross-section would be helpful}
9. The applicant should commit to analyzing the salvaged reclamation
material to determine what, if any, fertilizer is nece~sary to help
re vegetation.
10. Unless immediate plans for housing construction are anticipated in
this area, the operator must commit to reclaiming to m untain
grassland.
11. Will all access/haul roads be reclaimed? Those propos~d as
permanent must be clearly delineated.
12. The reclamation plan states that SCS recommendations ill be
followed. Reclamation costs include seedlings not rec mmended by
the SCS. How will these seedlings be planted?
13. The notarized right-to-enter does not contain a legal description
of the lands. Please clarify.
14. Reclamation costs are based upon the Di vi son completin reclamation
because of inability on the operator's part. These co is must
include equipment rental by the Division. However, ma imum bond
for a 110 permit can not exceed E5,000.00. I have att ched a
recalculation of these costs.
Arkins Park North
1. The mine plan should contain a commitment to salvaging all
available topsoil and fines for later use in reclamati n. The map
should show where the salvaged material will be stockpiled. The
operator must commit to seeding this material to preve t erosion if
stockpiles will remain in place for more than one seaso .
2. The map must identify any adjacent landowners.
3. Based on the map lengths given the Division has calcula ed that
this permit area is over 10 acres not including any rod s
designated. The new map (aerial photo) shows a much la ger area.
A limited impact permit must be under 10 acres. Areas ver 10
acres must be covered in a regular (112) permit. Pleas comment.
The other maps in the application must be revised to sh w the new
permit area.
4. How deep will these quarries be mined?
5. Will any vertical highwall be left upon completion of mhning?
6. What will be the general slope of the reclaimed areas?
1. What will be done to make the banks "secure" as stated 'n the
reclamation plan?
