4 ~ 39 <br />• Clca 16 to 30 inches; light brownish gray (10 YR 6/2) gravelly very fine sandy clay loam, <br />grayish brown (10 YR 5/2) moist; moderate fine subangular structure; slightly hard, <br />very friable, sticky and plastic; calcareous; 10 to 15 percent gravels, 15 percent <br />cobbles, 5 percent stones; lime deposits on surface of coarse fragments; coal <br />fragments; pH 7.6; gradual smooth boundary. <br />C2ca 30 to 37 inches; pale brown (10 YR 6/3) gravelly sandy loam, yellowish brown (10 YR <br />5/4) moist; moderate fine granular structure; soft very friable, non-sticky and <br />non•plastic; strongly calcareous; 25 percent gravels, 10 percent cobbles; pockets of <br />loamy and sand material; pH 7.6; gradual smooth boundary. <br />C3 37 to 17+ inches; pale brown (10 YR 6/3) clay loam, brown (10 YR 5/3) moist; <br />massive structure; soft, friable, sticky and plastic; calcareous; pH 7.8. <br />The A horizon has a hue of 2.5 Y or 10 YR, value of 5 or 6, and a chroma of 2 or 3. The C <br />horizon has a hue of 2.5 Y of 10 YR, value of 6 or 7, and a chroma of 2 through 4. It is very <br />gravelly sandy loam to very gravelly light clay loam. ft contains from 35 to 70 percent gravels. <br />• RIVRA VARIANT <br />The Rivra Variant consists of deep, moderately textured, well-drained soils. These soils <br />formed in mixed alluvium. Elevation range is 5,200 to 5,600 feet. Annual precipitation is about <br />10 inches. The mean annual soil temperature ranges from 40 ° to 47 ° F, and the frost-free <br />period is 90 to 135 days. The native vegetation is a greasewood-shrubland community. <br />The Rivra Variant is a member of the loamyskeietal, mixed, frigid family of Ustic <br />Torrifluvents.
