Some profiles have a very
bouldery or stony surface. Coarse fragments increase below 9 inches. Coarse fragments
amount to 60 to 80 percent larger than 2 mm and as much as 20 percent larger than 3 inches
in some profiles. The soil has a hue of 2.5 Y or 10 YR, value of 5 through 7 dry, 4 or 5 moist,
and a chroma of 2 or 3. The described pedon is finer than allowed in sandyskeleta! families; it
• is therefore mapped as a variant of the Rivra.
•
INS Volume 1 4-29-96
