DIRECTOR
October 15. 1998
Mr. Robert Fleming
ADCO Consulting
2090 E. 104's Avenue, #305
Denver, CO 80233
Re: CAMAS Mining Plan -Cooley Lake and Fulton Lake Pits
Property South E. 104' Avenue on both sides of S. Platte River
Dear Mr. Fleming:
Per County regulations, a 25' setback for mining from a County road right-of-way has
been deemed sufficient to insure no damages are likely to occur from the mining to the
relevant County road. Not only is this standard in County regulations, but experience
with a considerable number of mining operations in the County has proven that this
s[andazd is adequate. To my knowledge, no mining operation with a 25' setback has ever
caused damage to any County road, or to any utility structure under or above ground
within a County road's right-of-way.
Therefore, the Adams County Department of Public Works has no objection to the 25'
mining setback from the road right-of-way of 100'" Avenue and McKay Road, as
proposed in the mining and reclamation plans for the operation to be known as the
"Cooley Lake and Fulton Lake Pits". I hope this letter is sufficient for your needs in
satisfying the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology's requirement on this matter.
If net, and you need something else on this matter, please let me know and I would be
glad to provide it.
S' rely,
Lee Asay, Di ct r of Public Works
Cc: Daren Duncan, Engineering Section
lim Hayes, Department of Planning and Development
BOARD OF COUNTY ELAINE T.
