The
project is located in Sections 16 and 17, Township 2 South, Range 67 West, Adams County,
Colorado.
You asked that the Corps confirm the approximate jurisdictional wetlands on the
property. The Corps is not able to confirm the jurisdictional acreage until the wetlands within the
project boundary has been delineated and mapped and the project scope of work has been clearly
defined. You also asked as to what type of 404 permit that would be required for the gravel
mining project. It is not possible to define the type of 404 permit requirement for a given project
until the scope of work in the jurisdictional area has been defined and the manner in which the
project will be performed.
The Corps asks that at a minimum the following information be submitted with any
Department of the Army Permit application:
1. Section, Township, Range, County, latitude, and longitude;
2. Wetland delineation, mapping, and number of acres of each wetland;
3. vacinity map of the project;
4. a through description of the mining plan, procedures, and wetland acreage impacts;
5. drawings of the proposed mining plan and reclamation plan;
6. wetland mitigation plan;
7. clearance from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for the Ute ladies tresses orchid and
Prebles meadow jumping mouse.
If you have any questions pertaining to this project please call me 303-979-4120.
Sincerely,
Re_xrFletcher
Environmental Resource Specialist
10
